Association of Producers and Marketers of Yellow Pitahaya and other tropical agricultural products.

It was founded on September 15, 2001, as a non-profit entity with a social and solidarity economy nature, made up of more than 40 small and medium-size growers of avocado, passion fruit, cape gooseberry, and yellow pitahaya, in rural areas of several municipalities of Valle del Cauca department (Roldanillo, Bolivar, El Dovio, Riofrío, Trujillo, Sevilla) and other departments such as Risaralda and Quíndio, in farms located on thermal floors ranging from 1,200 to 1,850 meters above sea level.

Fruit production quality and safety are guaranteed with ongoing technical assistance to the productive units, provided by ASOPPITAYA technical team, Aurora Green Food team of professionals, and the support of ICA (Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario).

ASOPPITAYA began in 2004 the process for implementing Good Agricultural Practices, and production units today are certified under the GLOBAL GAP standard; thus, all the farms within the association comply with the BPA requirements.

Aurora Green Food’s mission, in alliance with ASOPPITAYA, is to contribute to improving the living conditions of its associates, generating economic development in villages and municipalities, basing its actions on the principles of solidarity, sustainability, honesty, equity, and ethical behavior in all fields.
